Borneo International Marathon (Sabah) 12 Oct 2008

On saturday, 11th october 2008, 8 of team members leaving to Sabah to joint Borneo International Marathon which was held on sunday 12th october 2008.

Team leaving @07:30hrs. from Kuala Lurah Brunei boarder and 2 cars as transportation. On the way to Sabah we have stop at Beaufort for lunch which took us 1 hour. We arrived at Sabah town @14:45hrs. and straight checked-in to Api Api apartment. From the apartment we drove to Likas hall to collect the goodies, eg. addidas t-shirt, bib numbers, and also checking the foot, for suitable shoes to be used. We spend around 1 hrs at the hall coz its run pretty smooth and well organise by the organiser.

From the Likas hall we went to visit 1 Borneo shooping complex which was the biggerst shopping mall in Borneo. We spend nearly 2 hours inside the mall. From that shooping mall we went to Likas stadium again for dinner invertation. In the stadium hall, perticipants are wellcome by the organiser on his speech and local dancer were adderess during the night, and follow by "Dinner Night". After spending 2 hrs at the hall we went back to our apartment to get ready for tomorrow marathon.

Marathon day, Sunday - 12th october, Likas stadium is the starting point. While we arriving at stadium, runners for full and half marathon already left. Ours on 10km will start at 07:00hrs. At about 10 min before we started, 2 kenyans on full marathon (42km) reached to the finished line. Our route on 10km is from the stadium to Jesultan port and turn around at the town market and back to the stadium again in the same route. Only 6 of the team joint the marathon on 10km run, the other 2 members volentiour as cameramen and supporters. One of the team (Wahid) managed to get number 4 in the catogery with the timing 50min. All of us managed to complete the run, where the last team to arrived took 1hr 16mins.

While in the stadium we are joint by runners from Negerian men/women and happy
to met them. After the presentation have completed, we all went back to our
apartment to rest and food.

On monday 13 october we all going back home to Brunei.

Brunei 21km Half Marathon 2008 (B.A.A.A) 10Aug08

Only 3 of our team members joined the Semi-Marathon which was held at Berakas stadium on sunday morning 10/08/2008. We ran 21km starting from the stadium which went through Bandar School area and Manggis area. It took us around 2hours plus which the finish line was also at the stadium. It took alot of effort and energy to finish this race where at the finishing line we all reweded with the certificate.

Mt Pinatobo Philipine 18 July 2008

4 of the Mount trekker members went to Philipine to climb Mt. Pinatobo at Capas on 17 Aug 2008. left Brunei to Sabah @0600hrs via Kuala Lurah by car and arrived Sabah airport @1130hrs. From Sabah Domestic Airport left at 1430hrs to Disdado Magapagal International Airport Philipine with package tour, the team members flew by Air Asia and arrived 1630hrs and stayed at the Swiss Chalet at Angeles City.

On the 18th Aug 2008 using a car from the hotel to Capas. Arriving at Capas had to register and hire a 4 whell drive, one guide and two withness (guide and withness is complusory). At 0800hrs, started driving from the registeration place and it took an hour to reach the end of the car trail. From here started walking uphill where it took 2 hrs to reach to the peak. The trail going to the peak is using where the lave had been flown during the volcano erruption. Reached at the peak at 1200hrs and spent only 30min at the peak, due to bad weather came. information that been told when bad weathers (rain) occurs the lake in the mountain would overflow and all the trail would be covered by downpour of water from the lake.

At 1230hrs started decline and reached to the starting point, where the fourwheel is still waiting. At 1430hrs reached at registeration center and had shower and lunch which was provided as package tour. At 1730hrs all head back and reached at the hotel at 1830hrs.

Team member spent the whole day at the hotel due to tiredness after a whole day climbing the mountain and went back to Sabah on the nextday 20th August. As soon landed in Sabah all head back home to Brunei by land.
