Mt. Kinabalu via Mesilau trail 11 June 2006

14 mount trekkers climbed Mt. Kinabalu via Mesilau trail and this is the toughest and
longerst trail to the mountain and many parts are steep and slippery.

This route has been advertised in the past as an alternative route to the first part of the summit climb, but it is very much longer and more ardours about 6-8 hours from Mesilau, as compared to 4-5 hours on the standard route to Timpohon Gate than the standard trail which is only about 3 km (2 miles) from Timpohon Gate to Layang-Layang. The Mersilau Trail joins the Timpohon Trail about 2 km before Laban Rata.

It tooks 10 hrs for the last team member arrived at Laban Rata. We stay one night at Laban Rata and left for mount climb at 04:00hrs the next day. All of the team member manage to the summit and spend 1 hrs on top.
