Team leaving home early in the morning @06:00hrs. meeting place as usual at Brunei border custom, and 4WD as our transportation. On the way to Lundu we have to stop several places for cars refueling and refreshing. After 14hrs travelling, we arrived Lundu National Park @20:00hrs and we were welcomed by the national park security. After checking in, we went to Lundu town to have our dinner as the the National Park staff said that open night market or "gerai makan malam" is situated in town. While we drove to town, we can see a lot of students were having their night classes in school and many people fishing river prawn or "udang galah" in the river near to town. Mostly people here travel by bicycles and motorbikes.
On the 25th April, the day climbing the mountain, we were greeted by Mt. Gading chief park warden Mr Chong Jiew Han. He is giving us a benefit introduction and safety while in the jungle. He also told about the mountain summit where its become the British base during communist era and evidence still can seen till today.
We are accompany by 2 park resort guides climbing to the summit, Mr Dahari & Miss Yolanda. One of our team member plan to stop at waterfall no-7 because he got ankle stain after football tournament. Half way up to the summit we met giant orchid "Rafflesia" and we didn't missed the change to take photos. Leeches are also found here. Talking on all trek trails, there are easy to find in this national park, which is marked with difference colours coding and each location marked with location levels. The first team to reach the summit took 1.5hrs. and the last took 3.5 hrs. We took about 1 hour at the summit for taking photos and having snacks. At about @14:00hrs we started decline from the summit and took 2 hrs to reach to the park. On arrival at the Park information center , we are told that the park has just started issuing the certificates and our team is the first to receive. At @16:00hrs we drove to Kuching town by using a road which used ferry to across the river. It only cost $1 per transportation. We arrive @20:00hrs at town and checking in at Somerset hotel.
On 27th April we are leaving Kuching town @05:45hrs proceeding Brunei. At @18:30hrs we arived at Miri and stop for dinner at the new restoran near to the sea. @20:30hrs we proceed to Brunei.

Rafflesia is not an orchid, but a parasitic plant inside the climbers commonly found around Gading NP areas. But here we have Normah Orchid (or Lundu Orchid) actually, a very rare orchid species originating from Gading areas.
